It was the autumn of 1953 when film star and style icon Audrey Hepburn sparked a trend that would kick-start the forays of a very instinctive designer named Laura Ashley. Ms. Hepburn-- like our Mrs. Ashley -- had an eye for spotting a trend. Coincidentally, both had taken notice of young Italian women wearing neck scarves. The actress, known for redefining glamour, incorporated the style into her role in the film Roman Holiday. And coincidentally, Laura, along with her husband Bernard, began printing scarves and other small textiles from the kitchen table of their tiny flat.

In 2005 the company moved its production operations on to one site in Newton, Powys, where it currently produces paint, wallpaper and made to measure curtains. The company has growing franchise operations all over  the world, including the Far East, Australia, Scandinavia and South America, as well as increasing numbers of licensing projects for products including carpets, eyewear, towels and tiles.

Talking about Laura Ashley (7 September 1925 – 17 September 1985)  is never get enough time for me. She is Legend, she is my inspiration. She is as one of the great British heritage brands have the characteristics of a Romantic English design and use of natural fabrics. When the first time i knew about her, i really like the pastel colors used and the pattern that is very romantic, elegant and so feminine. Laura Ashley blend of space, color, furniture and accessories all with a harmony. Then its all about how you feel in the room and it's atmosphere. I find peace, harmonium comfort arising from the color and pattern of Laura Ashley. fyi, a year ago i described that Laura Ashley very inspiring me on twitter, and unexpected the admin of Laura Ashley twitter reply of my appreciation :D can't describe i'm so damn happy. But unfortunately i forgot to make that tweet as a favorite, so it lost in the timeline. i can't find it anymore or anyone know how to find mention of a year ago, I would greatly appreciate it :). Unfortunately she's going too soon or why she was living at the time I have not been born?
